The Four Horsemen of the Health Apocalypse

There are four ingredients that food product companies utilize to manufacture food type substances. Fake flour, fake sugar, fake oils, fake flavors.

Fake flour is made by smashing the bran and germ from the starchy endosperm. This is then run through numerous screens to break it down to fine dust, super-heated, bleached ultra-white with cancer causing chemicals, and then heated again.

Refined white flour has no nutritional value, and is the basis of nearly all food product found on store shelves.

Fake sugar (High Fructose Corn Syrup) is made by using corn starch mixed with enzymes to break most of the glucose down into fructose. When fructose is naturally occurring in real fruit, like apples or blueberries, the natural fiber in the fruit slows down the absorption. But when the fructose is chemically extracted from glucose it becomes a nightmare for the body to process and assimilate.

HFCS has been known to cause numerous neurological and digestive dysfunctions in the body. Adding HFCS to manufactured foods makes them more shelf stable, so the producing company can still make money from the product months after manufacture.

Fake oils are produced by chemically extracting fats from seeds. The most common chemical used is hexane. Hexane is a chemical used to turn crude oil into gasoline. Most seeds will not give up their fats simply by smashing. The chemicals extract the fats from the seeds. Cotton seed, grape seed, sesame seed, etc. Fake oils also help food products to keep a longer shelf life. Fake oils also give foods that delightful crunchiness we love so much.

Fake oils fill the cells and coat them with a layer of impenetrable fat. This prevents insulin from unlocking the door to allow glucose into the cell to be used as fuel. When insulin can’t get in, it keeps rolling through the bloodstream, carrying its glucose cargo. As you eat more fake sugars, they continue to be carried throughout the bloodstream, unable to enter the cell. More insulin is then produced. This picks up all the glucose and fructose it can and transports it to the liver. The liver, unable to process this much glucose and fructose, stores it all around the visceral organs. You can see where this is going.

Fake flavors are created in laboratories. They are engineered to be delicious and addictive. Do you really think there is so much cheddar cheese that it can be used to flavor every product on every shelf in all of America? This is why packages of fake foods are labeled “cheese flavored.” They can’t legally say it’s real cheddar cheese. This goes for every flavor you see on any box of food product on store shelves.

Here’s a bit of trivia. Did you know that blueberry flavor used to be made by the secretions of the beaver castor glands (near the anus – think of when you take your dog to the groomers and they have to express those anal glands by hand). There aren’t enough blueberries to flavor everything on every store shelf that has blueberry flavoring. This flavor is now made in a lab and the castor gland secretions not used much anymore.

Fake flavors also extend shelf life so manufacturers can continue to make money long after production. They are also designed to be addictive. They are created in a lab to trigger the brain into wanting more. Ever noticed you can’t eat just three cheese flavored crackers? (I’m talking about you, Cheez-It)

Furthermore, the food manufacturing companies place their employees on regulating boards so they can control the industry from within. Even more, there are only ten companies that own all food manufacturing in America. And they control the regulation of those subsidiary companies and their products.

Let’s take a look at Kashi. Kashi started as a small food company that wanted to make good, healthy, wholesome food made with real ingredients. Kellogg’s bought the company for $32M and moved their product into their huge factories and your health was considered last on their list. Kellogg’s has now discontinued production of Kashi health bars and now only produces the dry cereal, which is fast and easy and cheap to make.

I like to think of these ingredients as the Four Horsemen of the Health Apocalypse.

Deception, War, Famine, Death.

Manufacturers Deceive you into thinking you’re buying healthy products by 1) using slick marketing 2) changing the names of dangerous ingredients to innocuous sounding ingredients (sugar alcohols).

They declare War on us all by putting profits over public health. They put their employees on regulating boards and oversight committees so they can get away with raising levels of allowable dangerous food chemicals and additives that cause serious harm.

Their products cause Famine by filling our bellies with yummy food type products without providing any real sustenance. The body starves while gorging itself on addictive chemicals that provide no real nutritive value.

Eventually, filling up on these dangerous products will lead to illness, prolonged disease, and Death.

Consider eating REAL FOOD. When going to the grocery store, buy groceries, By INGREDIENTS, not things made of ingredients. IF the food has a label, it isn’t a food. Go to the produce aisle, then go to the frozen veggies aisle, then get some canned foods – then get out of there quickly before the Oreos jump into your cart. Yeah, believe it or not, Oreos are vegan. I’m laughing and crying.

What you put into your body is important. It matters. Every bite you take leads you closer to health, or farther from it.

Start today, start small. Change just one item boxed food for real food. Trade Cheez-Itz for carrots. Just today. Then next week, try another food.

Don’t succumb to the Four Horsemen of the Health Apocalypse.
