This week in Tai Chi...


At the beginning of each class, I lead students through mindfulness meditation. Part of this guided process includes settling the body and relaxing the mind. This promotes a sense of calm.

When the mind is calm, it can observe its thoughts. We look at our thoughts from a place of equanimity, awareness without attachment. Awareness without judgment. There is no good or bad, only what is. With a calm mind we can approach our lives with confidence and peace. Our Tai Chi practice is designed to allow the mind and body to pull away from daily life for an hour. We set aside our worries, center our thoughts, observe what our bodies are doing, and
